Federated member Fisher Auto Parts was one of several local businesses that participated in the 2024 Worlds of Work student event held on Oct. 30 at the Augusta Expo Center in Fishersville, Virginia.
The Worlds of Works event is designed to introduce seventh-grade students to various career opportunities available in local industries. Nearly 3,000 students from the region attended the career fair.
Fisher Auto Parts had a strong presence at the event, with Jennifer Humphries and Scott Kozuch engaging attendees by addressing questions and discussing automotive parts distribution, sales and career paths within the industry.
"Participating in the Worlds of Work event was a rewarding experience for Fisher Auto Parts,” said Kozuch. “Introducing young students to the world of automotive parts and distribution allows us to inspire the next generation about potential careers in this field. It was wonderful to see the curiosity and enthusiasm from students who are eager to explore different career paths."
J.R. Bishop of Federated Auto Parts was also on hand along with Federated spokesperson and racing great Kenny Schrader. The Federated Auto Parts No. 9 dirt-modified car was a featured attraction at the event as students were able to take pictures with Schrader and the car as well as learn more about the racing industry.
"It was fantastic to connect with the students at the Worlds of Work event,” said Schrader. “Having the Federated No. 9 car there really drew a crowd, and I enjoyed sharing my passion for racing and the automotive industry. Events like these are great for giving young people hands-on insights into our industry, sparking their interest and hopefully setting them on a path to a rewarding career."
